See Fireproof First

Yesterday I did something unusual for me. I watched Dr. Phil. Earlier in the week I'd received an email saying that Kirk Cameron would be on the show, promoting the new film, Fireproof. Having seen an advance screening of the movie, I've been curiously following people's reactions to it and was interested to see what Dr. Phil had to say.

His reaction?

During his interview with Cameron, Dr. Phil said, "I think this is a terrific movie. I think it's a terrific storyline. I think you do a great job in it and I hope everyone will go see it."

Quite the glowing endorsement. Quite different from what I've been reading in blog comments (on sites outside of this one) from some Christians. Common complaints from these individuals seem to be the acting done by the volunteer cast members and what they perceive to be an overall lack of excellence. The problem is, none of those I've read these negative comments from have actually seen the film.

Huh.

My challenge to you? See Fireproof first. Draw conclusions after. You may just walk out of the theater echoing Dr. Phil's words, "This is a terrific movie."
